Welcome to the Bowling page of the West Asian Games 2005:-

This website will be your main source to get the latest images, scores and details from the 3rd West Asian Games which started in Doha on 1st of December 2005. The Bowling events will start on the 4th of December 2005 at the Qatar Bowling Center (1pm QST)..
The first event will be the ladies singles which will go on until 4pm (QST).

Daily Headlines (9-12-2005):-
UAE's Naif al Abdullah has won the masters event of the West Asian Games 2005 by defeating Qatar's Mubarak Al Muraikhi, whereas Mubarak in the semi's defeated Qatar's Bandar Al Shafi quite comefortably. The final was played on a best of 2 games by total basis, in which Naif Al Abdullah won quite easily.
In this way the west asian games, bowling events also concluded with Qatar leading the medals chart with 4 gold medlas, 2 silver and 3 bronze.


Daily Headlines (8-12-2005):
The first chapter of the Masters event consisting of 8 games was played in the afternoon, Qatar's Bandar Al Shafi was leading the in the first 8 games which was played on the long Oil pattern, UAE's Naif Al Abdullah was second with an average of 222.63 and the third was Saeed Al Hajeri with 217.63 average.
In the meantime the award distribution of the all events category was also held inwhich Qatar's Bandar Al Shafi won the gold medal, Saeed Al Hajeri silver and Kuwaits Khalid Al Debbeyan won the bronze medal. The next series of 8 games will be played on the short oil pattern and it will start at 2pm tomorrow afternoon.


Daily Headlines (7-12-2005):
Qatar's national Bowling Team added yet another feather to its cap by winning another Gold medal in the 5 men teams event. Qatar's team consisted of Ahmed Shaheen, Abdullah Al Qattan, Saeed Al Hajeri, Bandar Al Shafi and Mubarak Ali Al Muraikhi (Khalifa Khalid was in the reserves squad). Qatar was already having a 100pin lead in the first three games, since the other half of the 6 games was played on the Long Oil Pattern, the Qatari Team made it look really easy whereas at the same time Kuwait and Bahrin were fighting for the 3rd position, which Kuwait won in the end. UAE on the other hand won the 2nd position


Daily Headlines (6-12-2005):
Qatar's won itself a Gold and a bronze in the trios event which lasted a couple of minutes back, Qatar's Mubarak Ali Al Muraikhi, Saeed Al Hajeri and Bandar Al Shafi won the gold whereas Ahmed Shaheen, Abdullah Al Qattan and Khalifa Khalid Al Kubeisi won themselves a bronze, in the mean time Kuwait's trio Fadhel Al-Mousawi, Khaled Al-Debayyan and Mohammed Al-Rgeebah won the silver medals. Qatar's Bronze was well deserved by them despite of a tough competition from KSA and UAE. For more please view the results.
 


Daily Headlines (6-12-2005):
Qatar's bowlers were facing a stiff competition from both the Kuwaiti and the Saudi teams whereas UAE's trios also showed some skills in the 1st round. at the end of the first 3 games, Qatar's Bandar Al Shafi, Saeed Al Hajeri and Mubarak Ali Al Muraikhi were leading the 1st stage whereas Kuwaitis were second and againg Qatar's Ahmed Shaheen, Abdullah Al Qattan and Khalifa Khalid Al Kubeisie were on the third position with only 4 pins difference from the UAE team.


Daily Headlines (5-12-2005):
It was a brilliant day for the Kuwait, not only for the fact that they won their first bronze medal yesterday but they also won themselves the top-2 positions in the mens doubles event.
Kuwait's
Rakan Al-Ameeri and Khaled Al-Debayyan won the first Gold for Kuwait in Bowling whereas Fadhel Al-Mousawi and Mohammed Al-Rgeebah won silver medals respectively, the third position went to UAE's Shakker Ali Al Hassan and Naif Al Ogab whereas Qatar's best pair was on no.4 with Mubarak Ali Al Muraikhi and Bandar Al Shafi. All of the matches were played on a short oil pattern.


Daily Headlines (4-12-2005):
The ladies singles started today at 1pm QST the starting lineup was the ladies singles event, the chief guest for this afternoon was Sh. Tallal (President of Kuwait Bowling Federation and the Asian Bowling Federation). Nadia Al Awadi of Bahrain won the singles after an easy 6 games she finished with an average of 181.83 with the best game of 211 (1st game). Hind Al Hammadi of United Arab Emirates came 2nd in the singles tittle she finished with an average of 166.00 with the best game of 203 (6th game), lastly Nora Al Roudan of Kuwait was the 3rd with an average of 161.50 her best game was the 6th game (200)

UAE's Naif Al Abdullah (Middle) whereas Qatar's Mubarak Ali Al Muraikhi and bandar Al Shafi at the victory podium. Naif won a gold medal in the Masters category

The Top-3 players from the all event category with the delegation from Bahrain, KSA and FIQ. Bandar won gold, Saeed wilver and Kuwaits Khalid Al Debbayyan bronze

Saeed Al hajeri with the gifts from the West Asian Games. Saeed won a gold medal in the singles category, this achievement meant a lot to Saeed whose form has been questionable for a few months. The second position went to UAE's Mahmood Al Attar whereas the third position came to Qatar's Abdullah Al Qattan who played brilliantly in his 6 games.
